Toshiba Windows Phone IS12T

Toshiba Windows Phone IS12T Specification

flashmobileinfo
Windows Phone Mango, the next flavor of Microsoft's mobile operating system, was released to manufacturing (RTM) today, and the first handset that would arrive on shelves with it on board has just made an official appearance, namely the Fujitsu-Toshiba IS12T.
The new smartphone has just been unveiled to the world during a press event held by Japanese operator KDDI and Fujitsu-Toshiba, and will arrive on the market in Japan sometime in September.
The handset comes with a series of highly appealing hardware specs and features, its maker unveiled.

Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8655 application processor (most probably clocked in at 1GHz, the same as in other handsets out there), the new mobile phone will also hit the shelves with 32GB of internal memory.

The smartphone also comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA resolution, as well as with a high-quality 13.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording.

The new Windows Phone Mango device also comes with a range of connectivity capabilities in tow, such as WiFi b/g/n or Bluetooth 2.1. Moreover, it includes the usual set of sensors, as well as GPS receiver.

The mobile phone is waterproof, just as previously rumored, and should arrive on the market in September in three different color flavors, including citrus, magenta, and black.

Unfortunately, the Japanese carrier did not offer specific info on the release date of this device, nor on the price tag it might arrive on shelves with.

In preparation for the mobile phone's availability, KDDI has published a series of videos with the Windows Phone Mango OS flavor in action.

Those interested in learning more on the next platform release, as well as on the just unveiled IS12T smartphone should head over to the carrier's website for that.

What remains to be seen is when other Mango-powered smartphones might make an appearance on the market, and what specs they could sport.
This fall, companies like HTC, LG and Samsung should launch new Windows Phone devices, while Acer, Nokia and ZTE are among those who will make their first steps in the area.
